Worked on the apache/paimon repository to enhance the reliability and clarity of Hive catalog integration, focusing on core metadata correctness and error handling. Addressed two critical bugs by correcting the parameter order in the PartitionStatistics constructor, which improved the accuracy of partitioned data statistics and updated related tests for validation. Improved error management by translating Hive Metastore permission errors into more descriptive exceptions, making troubleshooting more straightforward for operators managing HMS-backed partitions. Utilized Core Java for implementation, emphasizing robust exception management and comprehensive testing. These targeted changes contributed to more trustworthy dashboards and a smoother experience for users interacting with Hive.
