Worked on the thesofproject/sof repository to enhance timekeeping reliability within embedded systems by addressing a persistent bug affecting extended time checks. Focused on configuration management, the developer enabled the CONFIG_COUNTER setting in C, which resolved flakiness in the basefw_get_ext_system_time() function and stabilized the test_102_08_extended_time_check. This targeted fix improved the determinism of time-sensitive components, reducing test failures and increasing the reliability of continuous integration workflows. By refining the configuration and ensuring accurate time tracking, the work laid a more robust foundation for future time-based features and contributed to safer, more predictable runtime behavior in embedded environments.
