Worked on enhancing CloudWatch OTel enrichment user experience by improving naming consistency and method aliasing across the aws/aws-cli and boto/botocore repositories. Focused on aligning CLI command and method names with OpenTelemetry conventions, the work introduced new otel command names while maintaining backward compatibility through hidden aliases. Leveraged Python for both API and CLI development, implementing comprehensive unit tests to ensure reliability and ease of use. These changes streamlined onboarding and reduced support overhead by providing clearer usage patterns, ultimately improving developer experience and minimizing the risk of future breakages related to naming inconsistencies in CloudWatch OTel enrichment features.
