Developed a proof-of-concept Matomo Analytics integration for the island-is/island.is repository, focusing on tracking organizations and search activity with environment-specific configuration for development, staging, and production. The work involved modularizing analytics code by moving Matomo initialization into a dedicated library and introducing a wrapper for safer rollout. Deployment workflows were updated to support the proof of concept, including environment variables and deployment triggers. Extensive code quality improvements were made through linting, formatting, and cross-file refactoring. Collaborated with multiple contributors to establish a foundation for data-driven insights, utilizing React, JavaScript, and TypeScript for robust front end analytics integration.
