In April 2025, András Gemes focused on enhancing the JOERN project by addressing a critical bug in the ghidra2cpg frontend. He improved the mapping of ARM instructions, replacing placeholder operators with accurate semantic representations to better reflect actual ARM assembly. This work, implemented in Scala, required deep code analysis and an understanding of compiler development and reverse engineering. By refining how ARM instructions are processed, András increased the reliability of code analysis and reduced false positives in downstream workflows. The targeted fix demonstrated a thoughtful approach to improving the accuracy of ARM code handling within the joernio/joern repository.
