Worked on the xbmc/xbmc repository to enhance subtitle support by implementing a Subtitle Extradata Handling Enhancement in CDVDDemuxClient. This update aligned subtitle extradata processing with existing audio and video stream handling, ensuring that non-empty subtitle extradata was preserved rather than discarded based on size. By removing the previous 4-byte gate, the solution resolved initialization failures for rich subtitle formats such as ASS and SSA, improving reliability across InputStream addons. Utilizing C++ development and software debugging skills, the work reduced startup errors and maintenance overhead, resulting in a more robust video processing pipeline and consistent subtitle experience for users.
