Worked on the RoadieHQ/roadie-backstage-plugins repository to address a critical issue arising from an Okta SDK upgrade, focusing on the preservation of custom Okta GroupProfile attributes during deserialization. Using TypeScript and Node.js, implemented a targeted fix by marking the GroupProfile model as extensible, ensuring that essential metadata such as custom attributes remained intact for downstream processing and custom transformers. This approach maintained data integrity within authentication and authorization workflows, preventing data loss and failures in identity pipelines. The solution was designed to be low-risk and backward compatible, aligning with best practices for maintaining robust Backstage plugin integrations.
