During January 2025, Gfl3162 contributed to the FFmpeg/FFmpeg repository by addressing a regression in frame rate detection for raw h264 and hevc bitstreams. Working in C, they enhanced the avformat/rawdec module to ensure the framerate is correctly set in codec parameters, improving the accuracy of frame durations used in video processing pipelines. Their solution clarified how framerate is derived, distinguishing between bitstreams with and without embedded timing information.
