During October 2024, Ardorful enhanced the ConsultingMD/dbt-core repository by implementing order_by and limit support for saved queries, enabling users to sort and restrict query results for dashboards and reports. This work involved updating the JSON schema and parsing logic in Python to accommodate new fields while maintaining backward compatibility. Ardorful also developed comprehensive tests to verify sorting and limiting behavior, ensuring reliability and correctness. The feature was delivered end-to-end, from design through validation, and focused on back end development and testing. This addition improved data retrieval flexibility and supported more tailored, data-driven decision making for end users.
