During January 2026, Gittinrep enhanced the Chromecast integration in the recloudstream/cloudstream repository by redesigning the Chromecast button flow within the Android application. Using Kotlin and focusing on UI development, Gittinrep removed the pre-check for available devices, allowing users to access the Chromecast feature immediately. The new approach initiates device discovery only when the button is pressed, streamlining the casting process and reducing unnecessary friction. If no devices are found, users now receive immediate feedback, improving the overall user experience. This work demonstrated a focused, end-to-end feature delivery, emphasizing thoughtful UX improvements and practical application of Android development skills.
