Worked on the open-telemetry/opentelemetry-collector-contrib repository to enhance Datadog tagging by introducing support for multi-valued tags and improved handling of OpenTelemetry attribute slices. Developed a feature-gated approach in Go to allow multiple values for the same tag key, preserving data fidelity and enabling more expressive metric slicing when exporting to Datadog. Added comprehensive unit tests to validate slice-based tag conversion and updated documentation to clarify new tagging semantics and feature gate behavior. This backend development effort established a controlled rollout path, minimizing risk while laying the groundwork for future default behavior in OpenTelemetry and Datadog integration workflows.
