During April 2025, Nyan focused on improving UI stability for the thoughtbot.social repository by addressing a layout issue affecting account avatars when usernames were unusually long. Using CSS and front end development skills, Nyan implemented a scoped CSS rule targeting the .account__avatar class to preserve the original avatar size and prevent visual distortion. This change reduced layout glitches and ensured consistent visual presentation across edge cases without introducing regression risks. The work demonstrated careful attention to layout management and regression-safe updates, resulting in a more robust user interface. Nyan’s contributions were limited in scope but addressed a clear, user-facing problem.
