The work involved refactoring backend Python code to improve readability and maintainability, as well as implementing robust data validation logic to ensure consistent handling of single strings and lists of strings. Comprehensive unit testing was added to verify the new functionality and address edge cases, supporting reliable specimen data processing. Collaboration and documentation were refined throughout the process, resulting in a more adaptable and maintainable backend validation component using Python and unit testing practices.
