Janis Greiskans focused on enhancing Latvian localization across the elementary/appcenter, elementary/gala, and elementary/greeter repositories during December 2024. He implemented updated translations for user interface elements, error messages, and metadata, using PO files and XML to ensure consistency and accuracy for Latvian users. Leveraging Weblate, Janis established a cross-repository workflow that streamlined the localization process and improved coverage across core applications. His work centered on internationalization and localization, addressing the need for better multi-language support. While no bugs were fixed, the depth of his contributions lay in strengthening the readiness and usability of these applications for Latvian speakers.
