
During November 2024, Griffin Ciluffo developed a Folksonomy Tagging System for the openfoodfacts/smooth-app repository, enabling users to enrich product data by adding, editing, and removing key-value tags directly on the product details page. He implemented a full CRUD flow for tags, integrating a modal-based UI with internationalization support and a developer toggle to control feature visibility. Using Flutter and Dart, Griffin designed scalable data models and UI components that maintain accessibility and code maintainability. This work addressed the need for enhanced product data richness and search relevance, aligning with business goals while demonstrating depth in mobile development and API integration.
