Worked on the apache/activemq repository to deliver a targeted performance refactor in broker logging and utility modules. Focused on replacing StringBuffer with StringBuilder and optimizing string concatenation in Java, the changes aimed to increase throughput and reduce contention in high-volume logging scenarios. By eliminating unnecessary synchronization, the refactor lowered garbage collection pressure and improved the maintainability of the logging stack. The work also included code cleanup and modernization, enhancing readability and setting the stage for future performance improvements.
