Worked on the FreshRSS/simplepie repository to enhance code quality and reduce bug risk by upgrading PHPStan static analysis to level 8. This process involved identifying and resolving type errors and improving edge-case handling throughout the PHP codebase. By focusing on static analysis and refactoring, the developer established a more robust foundation for future development and safer refactoring. The changes improved adherence to coding standards, resulting in greater stability and maintainability.
