Worked on enhancing GDPR compliance in the flarum/framework repository by addressing a critical bug in the erasure request workflow. Focused on backend development and API design using PHP, the work introduced safeguards to prevent processing of cancelled erasure requests and ensured user confirmation timestamps were properly reset. Additional checks were implemented throughout the erasure workflow to maintain data integrity and audit readiness. Comprehensive tests were added to validate the new GDPR-compliant behavior, ensuring that cancelled requests are consistently handled according to regulatory requirements. This targeted update improved the reliability and compliance posture of the system’s data erasure processes.
