Worked on the wazuh-indexer repository to improve the reliability and accuracy of replication metrics, focusing on backend development using Java and testing methodologies. Addressed a skew in the segment replication lag metric by refining the logic for starting replication lag timers, which prevented incorrect calculations and reduced the risk of false alerts. Added a regression test to ensure the corrected metric performed accurately under various scenarios, and updated the project’s changelog to enhance traceability for stakeholders. The approach emphasized maintainability and observability, supporting better decision-making and adherence to service level agreements through more precise metric reporting and validation.
