During July 2026, contributed to the mongodb-js/mongodb-mcp-server repository by delivering an enriched health check endpoint for the MCP server. This work enhanced the health-check response to include version, uptime, and timestamp details, and introduced a Cache-Control: no-store header to improve response handling. The implementation involved updating both documentation and comprehensive unit and integration tests to ensure reliability and clarity. Utilizing Express, Node.js, and TypeScript, the changes improved observability and diagnostics for deployments, enabling smoother integrations and faster issue identification. The focus on API design, response formatting, and robust testing demonstrated a methodical approach to backend feature development.
