During March 2025, Hardik Deshmukh developed the foundational backend API for the UTDallasEPICS/xuchil repository, focusing on establishing core data access and project structure. He implemented an Express.js server connected to a MySQL database, providing RESTful endpoints and CRUD operations for users and tasks, as well as category-based product retrieval. Hardik designed and wired routes, controllers, and data models in JavaScript, ensuring the backend was API-ready and positioned for future feature expansion. His work delivered the essential scaffolding for reliable data management, enabling rapid development and testing of new features while maintaining a clear, maintainable project architecture.
