Brynn Harrison enhanced AWS AZ discovery support by updating IAM policies to include the ec2:DescribeAvailabilityZones permission for both control plane and worker nodes, enabling more reliable AZ-aware scheduling and resource placement. Working within the rancher/rancher-product-docs repository, Brynn aligned technical changes with documentation by updating amazon.adoc to reflect the new permissions. This work leveraged AWS, IAM policy management, and cloud infrastructure expertise, with documentation maintained in Markdown. The update improved automation readiness and reduced manual configuration errors for multi-AZ deployments. Over the month, Brynn focused on a single, well-scoped feature, demonstrating depth in cloud permissions and deployment workflows.
