During April 2026, Heartstopp1ng developed enhanced media metadata support for the ossrs/ffmpeg-webrtc repository by implementing JPEG XL image attachments within the ID3v2 standard. Using C programming and multimedia processing expertise, Heartstopp1ng enabled image/jxl files to be recognized as valid cover art attachments, improving compatibility across media players and supporting lossless JPEG transcodes. The work focused on robust attachment handling and demuxing, ensuring reliable rendering of JPEG XL cover art in FFmpeg-driven workflows. No critical bugs were addressed, as the month’s efforts centered on feature delivery and validation. The contribution demonstrated depth in format integration and metadata reliability.
