Worked on the release-plz/release-plz repository to address a critical issue in prerelease versioning logic, focusing on the accuracy of version increments when dependencies change. Applied expertise in Rust and CI/CD to fix a bug that previously caused incorrect prerelease tags, which could lead to mislabelled releases and unreliable automation in continuous integration pipelines. The solution involved updating version management logic and validating changes with targeted tests to ensure deterministic and reliable version progression. This work improved the reliability of automated release workflows, reduced the risk of errors in prerelease labelling, and strengthened the overall integrity of the release process.
