During November 2024, Viper61 developed ACME configuration support for the Vault PKI secret backend within the opentofu/terraform-provider-vault repository. This work introduced a new resource enabling users to manage ACME settings such as issuer permissions, DNS resolvers, and EAB policies, all configurable through Terraform. The implementation leveraged Go and HCL, ensuring compatibility with Vault version 1.14 and above. Viper61 updated the provider’s configuration and documentation to reflect these changes, focusing on seamless integration with existing PKI workflows. The feature addressed the need for automated certificate management, demonstrating depth in Terraform provider development and secure infrastructure automation.
