During November 2024, Helma Azouz focused on backend development and code refactoring for the oqc-community/qat repository, specifically targeting the Sweep functionality. She removed the redundant SweepDecomposition transform pass, streamlining the codebase and reducing unnecessary complexity. To ensure robust behavior, Helma implemented a validation test that checks the correct creation and operation of the Sweep instruction, with particular attention to maintaining consistent lengths of sweep value spaces. Working primarily in Python and leveraging her skills in testing, she improved the reliability and maintainability of the Sweep instruction, laying a stronger foundation for downstream performance and future development in the project.
