Hendi focused on improving the reliability of DASH manifest handling in the FFmpeg/FFmpeg repository by addressing a bug related to special character encoding in URLs. Working in C, Hendi implemented a fix that encodes special characters, such as ampersands, within DASH manifest URLs to ensure proper resolution and accurate content settings in XML nodes. This targeted change enhanced the stability of manifest parsing for both live and on-demand DASH workflows, reducing runtime errors and support incidents. The work demonstrated a solid understanding of error handling and XML processing, delivering a precise solution to a nuanced interoperability issue within streaming environments.
