Worked on the openssl/openssl repository to improve HTTP proxy reliability, focusing on IPv6 support within the HTTP client. Addressed a critical bug by refining how IPv6 addresses are formatted in CONNECT requests, ensuring that bare addresses are correctly wrapped in brackets and that existing bracketed forms are preserved. This change aligned the proxy connection logic with protocol requirements and enhanced overall connectivity in proxy scenarios. The work involved C programming, HTTP protocol handling, and network programming, including code review and merge activities. These contributions strengthened the robustness of OpenSSL’s HTTP client, particularly in environments requiring precise IPv6 proxy handling.
