Key outcomes include a new tagging data source, CRUD operations for tagging resources, expanded tag input schemas, and updated tag handling across API paths, enhancing consistency and automation in customer deployments. In addition, tagging was removed from core resource tagging paths (with deprecation of tag helpers) for security groups and subnets to reduce maintenance burden and risk of fragmentation. The provider identity/name was updated to a more generic, maintainable format to improve observability and compatibility with downstream tooling. Overall, these efforts improve governance, consistency, and developer experience while reducing long-term maintenance overhead.
