During September 2025, Hikomoon modernized the build system for the oxc-project/oxc repository’s VS Code extension by migrating from esbuild to rolldown. This work involved creating a new rolldown configuration file and updating dependencies to align with the new build process, leveraging TypeScript and YAML for configuration and scripting. The migration aimed to reduce build complexity and improve packaging reliability, resulting in a more maintainable and robust CI pipeline. Hikomoon’s focus on build tools, configuration management, and dependency management addressed potential risks in the extension’s release process, enabling faster iteration and safer, more predictable extension deployments going forward.
