During September 2025, Hikomoon modernized the build system for the oxc-project/oxc repository’s VS Code extension by migrating from esbuild to rolldown. This work involved creating a new rolldown configuration and updating dependencies to align with the new build process, leveraging TypeScript and YAML for configuration management and dependency updates. The migration aimed to reduce build complexity and improve packaging reliability, resulting in a more maintainable and robust CI pipeline. Hikomoon’s focused engineering addressed infrastructure concerns, enabling faster iteration and safer releases for the extension. The depth of the work reflects a strong grasp of build tools and configuration management.
