Qun focused on enhancing Debezium’s SQL Server connector by improving incremental snapshot offset handling within the SqlServerOffsetContext, addressing the accuracy of offset management during in-progress data streaming. Working in the debezium/debezium repository, Qun implemented logic in Java to ensure that incremental snapshot offsets are correctly tracked, which strengthens the reliability of change data capture workflows using Kafka. The work also included a minor code quality improvement by removing an unused import, contributing to maintainability. Over the course of the month, Qun’s efforts centered on backend development, demonstrating depth in code quality improvement and targeted feature delivery rather than broad bug fixing.
