During January 2025, Kevin Stine developed Linux PPC32 BE platform support for the conda/rattler repository, expanding its ability to recognize and process PPC32 BE Linux environments. He extended the Platform and Arch enums in Rust, applying conditional compilation and updating the platform recognition logic to ensure correct handling of new package types. This work broadened rattler’s platform coverage and potential business reach by supporting additional hardware architectures. The implementation demonstrated a clear understanding of cross-architecture design and maintainable code practices, integrating seamlessly with existing packaging workflows and validating stability through established pipelines without introducing new bugs during the release.
