During January 2025, Htw focused on enhancing the Skyscanner/backpack-android repository by implementing a new CI/CD authentication mechanism for GitHub workflows. Htw replaced the use of the default GITHUB_TOKEN in Danger and label-check workflows with authentication via a dedicated GitHub App, leveraging the GitHub REST API. This approach improved both the security and reliability of workflow automation. The work was carried out using YAML for workflow configuration and involved skills in API authentication, CI/CD, and GitHub Actions. The update addressed a specific need for more robust authentication, reflecting a targeted and technically sound engineering contribution within the project.
