Worked on the AlexxIT/go2rtc repository to enhance backend security by addressing credential exposure in WebSocket error messages. Developed and integrated a regex-based masking solution in Go, ensuring that sensitive information is sanitized before being logged or displayed in the user interface. This approach preserved essential error context while eliminating the risk of leaking credentials through error paths. The work focused on backend development and security best practices, with clear documentation and maintainability improvements to the sanitization logic. No new features were released during this period, as efforts were concentrated on strengthening incident response readiness and preparing for broader security hardening.
