Worked on the ueberdosis/tiptap repository to address a cross-browser editing issue affecting emoji navigation in Firefox. Focused on improving reliability and user experience, the developer implemented a custom keydown handler within the emoji extension to manage cursor positioning around emoji nodes, resolving a bug that prevented users from navigating past emojis with arrow keys. Using TypeScript and leveraging the ProseMirror and Tiptap frameworks, they expanded automated test coverage with Playwright to validate bidirectional navigation and prevent regressions. The work enhanced accessibility and consistency across browsers, with traceable commits ensuring auditability and maintainability of the editing experience for end users.
