Developed embedded Perl language support for the Helix editor, focusing on accurate handling of Perl code within HTML files in the helix-editor/helix repository. This work involved updating language support files and refining query definitions to enable robust syntax highlighting and code injection for mixed-language documents. Leveraging skills in editor development, language support, and syntax highlighting, the implementation utilized Rust, Scheme, and TOML to ensure maintainability and extensibility. The approach included aligning tooling and documentation to minimize future regression risks, ultimately enhancing the editing experience for users working with Perl-heavy templates and improving support for complex, embedded language scenarios.
