In February 2016, Marco Buzzanca developed and integrated a Jinc2 shader into the dosbox-staging/dosbox-staging repository to enhance image scaling quality and minimize ringing artifacts in the rendering pipeline. Leveraging expertise in OpenGL, graphics programming, and shader development with GLSL, Marco adapted the shader from RetroArch, ensuring compatibility and improved visual fidelity for end users. This contribution addressed the need for higher graphics accuracy and laid the groundwork for future improvements in rendering quality. The work demonstrated a focused approach to user experience and technical depth, providing a robust foundation for ongoing enhancements in the project’s graphics subsystem.
