During April 2026, Iacker developed and validated Custom API Mode Handling for the Auxiliary Client in the NousResearch/hermes-agent repository. This work focused on enhancing API consistency and reliability for custom endpoints by implementing robust resolution and application of the api_mode parameter, such as codex_responses. Leveraging Python for backend development and configuration management, Iacker improved fallback logic to strengthen custom runtime resolution, addressing edge cases that could impact stability. Automated tests were added to cover api_mode resolution and fallback behavior, reducing the risk of regressions. The resulting feature improved extension point stability and reduced operational risk for custom endpoint users.
