During February 2026, Syndicated Life developed environment variable synchronization for GitOps deployments in the ofkm/arcane repository. They implemented automatic syncing of .env files alongside Docker Compose, enabling the system to detect changes in environment variables and trigger redeployment as needed. This work involved updating backend flows in Go to propagate environment content through the project service, as well as integrating change detection mechanisms to reduce configuration drift. Syndicated Life validated the feature with comprehensive unit and integration tests, supplemented by manual testing in a GitOps-enabled environment, demonstrating depth in backend development, testing, and GitOps automation using Go and TypeScript.
February 2026: Delivered Environment Variable Synchronization for GitOps Deployments in ofkm/arcane. Implemented automatic syncing of .env files alongside Docker Compose during GitOps operations, with change detection that triggers redeployment when environment variables change. Introduced end-to-end backend flow changes to pass env content through to the project service, and validated behavior with unit/integration tests and manual testing in a GitOps-enabled environment.
