Worked on enhancing the tracing reliability and observability of the rabbitmq-server project by addressing encoding issues in the Tracing Plugin. Focused on backend development using Erlang, the work involved enforcing UTF-8 encoding to replace the previous Latin1 default, ensuring that trace records containing non-Latin1 characters would no longer be rejected. This change improved the completeness of trace data, particularly for international workloads, and reduced the risk of trace loss.
