During December 2025, S. Damani focused on enhancing the stability and user interaction of the Map Comparison feature in the NASA-IMPACT/veda-ui repository. By refactoring the interaction logic and removing a workaround that previously disrupted map controls, Damani restored reliable mousedown events and improved the overall consistency of user interactions. The work included updating the mapbox-gl-compare package to incorporate a submitted fix, aligning dependencies, and ensuring the feature was ready for release. Utilizing JavaScript, React, and front end development skills, Damani addressed a critical bug, contributing depth and maintainability to the codebase despite a short engagement period.
