In September 2025, Ivan Smirnov developed the BundleController component for the ytsaurus/ytsaurus-k8s-operator repository, focusing on enhancing resource management within Ytsaurus clusters. He implemented the BundleController in Go, leveraging Kubernetes and Operator SDK to integrate the new component into the operator’s architecture. This work included extending the YtsaurusSpec to support the BundleController and introducing a dedicated BundleControllerSpec, both defined in YAML. By managing bundle controllers natively within the cluster, Ivan’s contribution improved alignment with bundling strategies and established a foundation for more reliable operations. The project demonstrated depth in cloud native development and operator design.
