Worked on the thesofproject/sof repository to address a critical issue in audio driver development, focusing on embedded systems and firmware development using C. Delivered a targeted fix for IPC4 frame format determination by updating the logic to use container size rather than valid bit depth, which previously caused misalignment between buffer format and audio stream parameters. This change improved the reliability of the IPC data path and reduced the risk of data corruption or misinterpretation during IPC data handling. The solution was carefully scoped to the IPC4 helper frame format logic, ensuring clear separation of concerns and traceability within the codebase.
