During this period, contributed to the withastro/astro repository by enhancing the MDX integration with support for Smartypants option objects. This work addressed an issue where Smartypants options were previously ignored, improving typography fidelity for MDX content authors. The implementation involved TypeScript and JavaScript, with a focus on robust option handling and comprehensive unit and integration testing to prevent regressions. Updates included thorough test coverage and changeset documentation to ensure clarity in future releases. The approach demonstrated attention to both feature completeness and long-term maintainability, emphasizing reliable front end development practices and effective use of modern MDX tooling.
