Worked on the netgen/media-site repository to deliver a targeted PHP runtime upgrade, focusing on moving from PHP 8.1 to 8.2. Used Makefile for configuration management, ensuring the deployment process seamlessly supported the new runtime version. The approach prioritized minimal, low-risk changes, maintaining existing functionality while aligning the project with current security and performance standards. This work enhanced the maintainability of the codebase and prepared it for future upgrades. The update did not introduce new features or bug fixes but improved the overall security posture. Skills applied included DevOps practices and Makefile scripting within a configuration management context.
