Worked on the ncats/GSRSFrontend repository to enhance data integrity within the Substance workflow, focusing on the save-substance process for both draft and production records. Addressed a bug where existing substances were incorrectly identified as new, leading to unintended record creation and UUID conflicts for drafts. Implemented a version check using TypeScript and Angular, ensuring that POST requests only create new substances when UUID or version information is missing. This approach prevented misclassification and reduced the risk of duplicate records. The solution improved user experience and lowered support overhead by refining REST API semantics and strengthening frontend data management practices.
