Addressed a critical bug by implementing robust exception handling for the main WebSocket stream and its shutdown process, using Python and asynchronous programming techniques. Enhanced the system’s error handling to reduce uncaught exceptions and prevent dangling connections during restarts or deployments, supporting safer release cycles. Improved observability by adding detailed logging around WebSocket errors, which expedites triage and root cause analysis. The work prioritized backend stability and operational resilience, contributing to improved uptime and a more maintainable codebase for the team.
