In July 2025, Ireneusz Kolodziejczyk enhanced the box-ui-elements repository by implementing targeted instrumentation for the retention policy extend button. Using React and JavaScript, Ireneusz added data-target-id attributes to this UI element, improving analytics tracking and enabling more precise identification during automated testing. The work focused on front end development, with changes isolated to a single feature and no major bug fixes. This update allowed for more reliable event collection and streamlined quality assurance processes, increasing visibility into retention policy usage. The scope was intentionally limited, resulting in a low-risk, high-quality improvement to analytics and testability within the codebase.
