During October 2024, Imai updated the procedure observation category description in the JP_SimpleObservationCategory_CS.fsh file within the jami-fhir-jp-wg/jp-core-v1x repository. This work clarified the inclusion criteria for observations from both interventional and non-interventional procedures, while explicitly excluding laboratory and imaging diagnostics. Using FSH and leveraging expertise in FHIR and technical documentation, Imai improved the specification’s accuracy and reduced ambiguity in category mapping. The update enhanced downstream data interoperability and enabled more reliable clinical data profiling. The contribution demonstrated careful attention to detail and alignment with clinical practice, resulting in clearer, more actionable documentation for the JP-Core v1.x project.
